FINDING, FLOWING, FLOWERS GROW
One weekend in the summer of 2025, we wound up steeply, to the top of a wooded hill, unpacked, set up, played, played and played, and then packed up and left. In one weekend, we had done it.

Engineering, MIXING, vocals
Andy Catá
Knowing the room, setting the equipment, balancing factors, absorbing and supporting. Then, making sense of it all.
With discernment, wherewithal, and knowhow, and with spades. Then, the mixing decisions, and there can be plenty, yet sounds are free and flowing as the playing. Small decisions that have profound effects.

Pedal SteeL, Electric and Classical guitars, vocals
Alex Bizzarro
A player with sensitivity, introspection, grace, Alex asks me: what is it you like in it?
I tell him words I think are correct, but listening back and thinking, it is reaction.
On “Far or Near,” listen to how the pedal steel does not always play in between vocal lines, but sometimes floats under the voice and lets the music drift.

Drums, percussion, slide whistle, vocals
Herschel Van Dyke
Always not sure of what he’s thinking, yet there is something stirring. A dynamic beat with a forcefield of heart.
Words can be vague, and sometimes utterly useless. But love infuses every trace.

A very special, extra sincere thank you to Gary & Ann Smith who let us take over their living room for two days and made us all feel wonderfully comfortable.
